About Us

New Life Community Church is a member of the Great Commission Association
of churches, an international non-denominational movement of
evangelical Christian churches.

Our Core Values

Our Purposes

Passionate Spirituality - Christ will be exalted and looked to. We will pursue delight with God, intimacy with Him, to glory in Him and in our relationship with Him. We will express faith in His name, power and presence. We will cultivate hearts that respond obediently to His Spirit through the Word.

Empowering Leadership - The goal of leadership is to equip others for the work of service. We are here to help make others successful. We want to develop leaders by mentoring them in positions of responsibility. We want to assist men and women to excel in leadership within their spheres of responsibility. We want to see leadership multiplied through the multiplication of churches.

Gift-Oriented Ministry - We want to promote an environment that recognizes the value of Spiritual gifts. We want to understand gifts and organize the church around the proper and voluntary use and exercise of spiritual gifts. This means that most people need to know what their gifts are, what they like to do, and be encouraged to do it.

Flexible Ministry Structures - We want to identify primary ministries, organize them and delegate responsibility. Through the insights gained from team building we will continually evaluate ministry structures to promote and maintain quality and relevance. We want to encourage flexibility in establishing new ministry structures, changing existing ministry structures or retiring them gracefully when they are no longer needed.

Inspiring Worship - We want to worship God in spirit and in truth; a worship service where God is honored and glorified and the where presence and working of the Spirit is sought and experienced. We want to express joy and a sincere love for God and for one another in tangible ways.

Holistic Small Groups - We want to promote small groups that provide a place for love and intimate friendships to be expressed and developed. We want small groups to be a source of support and stimulation for change in the lives of growing believers. We want small groups that value both diversity and unity, building healthy relationships with one another. We want to promote and encourage redemptive relationships in our surrounding community.

Need-Oriented Evangelism - We want to cultivate a heart of compassion for those who do not yet know Christ. We want to open our eyes to circumstances around us and cultivate a willingness to meet true needs of hurting people in the name of Christ. We want to cultivate wisdom and discernment to minister in the way that Jesus would. We want to be ready and able to introduce others to the love and redemption and hope that is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Loving Relationships - We want to grow in love - for those we like, for God, and for those we don’t necessarily like. We want to express acceptance, not criticism. We want to take initiative, not be passive. We want unity, not independence. We want reconciliation, not anger. We want to help one another, not turn away. We want to promote an atmosphere where we are encouraged to love one another materially, emotionally and spiritually.

What to Expect

Our Sunday morning service is designed to renew and encourage us in our connection with God. The following elements are incorporated into our service as part of that design.

Worship
Music at New Life is focused on expressing our gratitude and adoration towards God. This is a time of both celebration of our relationship with God and reflection on His work in our life. This time may be the most faith-filled time of the morning. We hope the worship time will allow you to reveal your heart to God in a personal way.

Special Music
From time to time, the band at New Life will perform a special song. A special may help us to focus our hearts on some aspect of God’s character or grace towards us. It is an opportunity to reflect and rejoice.

Teaching
The teaching at New Life aims to distill biblical truth into practical applications that we can bring into our everyday lives. Our pastors often present extended series of messages focused on a particular subject or book of the Bible.

Most Sunday services are recorded. You can stream or download messages, songs, and sermon notes here. You can also sign up for New Life's podcast at that link, as well as view other content (poems, pictures, and external links.)

Fellowship
God is honored when people experience the unity and friendship true of God’s family.

Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 a.m., and lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes.  Children's Sunday School is offered during the service. Please join us for casual conversation and tea or coffee in the sanctuary and foyer before or after the service.

What to expect during the service

A typical morning service at New Life consists of

* Approximately 25 minutes of worship songs
* The message (30-35 minutes long), and
* Worship songs to close

There is quite a bit of interaction during the service.  We often feature
Communion, dance, drama, sharing, prayer, or other forms of worship, and we often discuss what's being taught together.

Ministries

Your Opportunity to Serve!

We have a variety of ministries and we need volunteers at almost every level. The people serving these ministries are the lifeblood of our church - we couldn’t function without them.

We are very supportive of those who want to take initiative. If you have a ministry that you are interested in launching, we would be eager to talk to you about your plan and explore ways that we can assist you in fruitful ministry.

Check out our Ministry Teams for more information, and email or call the church office at 816-318-3623 if you are interested in helping.

Finances

New Life Community Church is supported by the tithes and offerings of those who consider this their church.

We believe God calls all who know Him to honor Him through financial giving, Proverbs 3:9-10 states:

"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."

He is pleased when His followers do so cheerfully and not under compulsion. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, the apostle Paul states:

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

God will continue to bless our church, its work, and our individual lives as we honor Him with what He’s given us.

We publish a yearly statement of our financial condition in the first quarter of each year.

We are involved as a church in the support of a number of missionaries through our national association, Great Commission Association of Churches.

If you have questions on the financial status of the church, call the church office at 816-318-3623 for more information.
