Our Core Values
We are guided by four core values drawn from Scripture. These are holiness, compassion, outreach, and community. A document describing these in more detail is here.
What to Expect From our Sunday Meeting
Our Sunday morning meeting is designed to encourage our walk with God. It begins at 10:30 a.m., and lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. Children's Church is offered during the service; families are also welcome to worship together upstairs if they'd like. We welcome everyone to join us for casual conversation and tea or coffee in the sanctuary and foyer before or after the service. We don't have a dress code and don't always start exactly on time. :-)
We express our gratitude and adoration towards God by singing together. Sometimes we'll also have special music. In addition, we celebrate Communion monthly; anyone who trusts in Jesus is welcome to join us.
The purpose of Bible teaching at New Life is to distill biblical truth into practical applications that we can bring into our everyday lives. About 25% of our teaching schedule is topical; the rest is book study. The teaching ministry is shared by the pastors and by other men from the church family.
One distinctive of New Life is our interactive approach to Sunday morning Bible teaching. Our teachers interact with the people and welcome questions and discussions, which leads to many lively exchanges.
We enjoy spending time together and meeting new people. For this reason, we encourage people to come early or stay later and enjoy each others' company.
Your Opportunity to Serve!
We have a variety of ministries and we need volunteers at almost every level. The people serving these ministries are the lifeblood of our church - we couldn’t function without them.
We are very supportive of those who want to take initiative. If you have a ministry that you are interested in launching, we would be eager to talk to you about your plan and explore ways that we can assist you in fruitful ministry. Although we don't have a formal membership process, we ask those who serve as leaders to commit to New Life as their church home.
Check out our Ministry Teams for more information, and email us if you are interested in helping.
We believe in strict accountability and transparency in our church finances. The association we belong to, Great Commission Association of Churches, is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. Our budgets are available on our website for anyone to download and view. Our pastors cannot write checks or spend church money and do not deposit or withdraw funds without oversight.
New Life Community Church is supported by the gifts of those who consider this their church. We believe God calls all who know Him to honor Him through financial giving. Proverbs 3:9-10 states:
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."
He is pleased when His followers do so cheerfully and not under compulsion. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, the apostle Paul states:
"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
God will continue to bless our church, its work, and our individual lives as we honor Him with what He’s given us.
